It’s the evening of Labor Day and I’m drinking in the wind right now, which is finally dispersing the thick air, heavy with humidity and energy of over a million people at the West Indian Parade up the street from me. I love Brooklyn, for its diversity and sheer life-force, and I’m also grateful for the quiet of my studio.

I’m reflecting on my summer, which found me close to home on the challenging and thrilling journey of articulating what I do through language and image with the same kind of clarity, simplicity and attention that fuels my work. In many ways I’ve traveled farther than ever these past few months, skipping down unknown paths and jumping into cold waterfalls, literally and figuratively.

I started the journey in mid-May. Grand Jury duty in the first two weeks of the month shocked my senses and boggled my mind and I came home with the conviction that it was time to come out of hiding and bring the vision and understanding that my work embodies to the surface; to use what I’ve learned to offer an alternative perspective and tangible tools for moving out of patterns that bind us to painful and limited realities.

This is what I do on an individual level at Force and Flow. I’m a preventative healthcare professional and I use movement practices and hands on therapeutics to guide people who struggle with their physical, emotional and cognitive patterns of daily movement to create an integrated and sustainable long-term approach to wellness. I work with accomplished, bright and discerning clients as they navigate through the complex orbits of their life to experience grounding and alignment as well as balance and ease .

And I’m watching my work grow in exciting new directions as my artistic practices find more space to play and intermarry my therapeutic and coaching practices through my work with organizations, designing spaces that catalyze creative movement and integrate sustainable wellness into their construction.

A new website is coming later this month, and I’ve started posting on twitter @forceandflow, so you can follow as things continue to grow and unfold. Articles and events I think you’ll find interesting are finding their way onto the Facebook page, so that’s another way to tune in and start exploring.

If you’re looking for an affordable yet personalized approach to taking care of yourself and finding dynamic balance and alignment to support you in every aspect of your life, check out Falling into Balance, a 90-day semi-private group session. I work with five people at a time and there are only three groups, so spaces are very limited and filling quickly.

Wishing a sweet and happy new year to those who are celebrating and a prosperous new season to all! And special thanks to my mom, Shoshana Wolf, for the beautiful image of a butterfly in the Tel Aviv dawn 🙂
